Medicinal Use:

Menopause – hot flushes / blurred vision / cramps / sleeplessness / nerves / anemia / osteoporosis

Menstrual conditions – anemia / amenorrhea / dysmenorrhea / PMT

Anemia

Allergies

Constipation

High blood pressure

Aching Joints

Ulcers

Contraindications:

Heavy menstrual flow / flooding

Diarrhea

Pregnancy

Children

Breastfeeding

Bleeding disorder

Hormone sensitive conditions: breast/ovarian/uterine cancer, endometriosis, uterine fibroids

Warning:

Short term use only

Do not overdo the dosage

Protein S deficiency, can cause blood clots

Surgery – may increase risk of bleeding during or after.  Stop use 2 weeks prior to surgery

Interactions:

Any hormone interacting drug: – HRT, the pill etc.

Anti-biotics

Medications that slow blood clotting: aspirin, cataflam, ibroprofen, warfarin etc.  The dose of warfarin etc.  may need to be changed.  Bloods will need to be checked regularly.

Diabetes – monitor levels and adapt meds
