Fever
Colds / flu
Sinus and coughs (especially with golden seal)
Digestive ailments – bloating, flatulence, GI complaints
Gallstones / gallbladder complaints
Uterine pains – uterine toning, blood in urine, spasms
Heavy menses, irregular/scanty menses
Internal bleeding
Cramps / endometriosis
Natural fly repellent
Allergies / hay fever – watery eyes and runny nose, pollen, dust etc.
Externally can stop bleeding and heal wounds, bruises, burns, cuts
Menopause
Contraindications:
Allergy to aster family
Pregnancy / Lactating
Bleeding disorder
Warning:
Excess dosage can cause: drowsiness and increased urination
Beware of skin irritations when used externally
Stop use 2 weeks prior to surgery
Long-term use can cause: headache, photosensitivity to light
Interactions:
Blood thinning medications
Lithium
Barbiturates / sedatives
Antacids
H2 blockers – decrease stomach acid: Tagamet, Pepcid, Nexium, etc.
